Our labor unions are not narrow, self-seeking groups. They have raised wages, shortened hours and provided supplemental benefits. Through collective bargaining and grievance procedures, they have brought justice and democracy to the shop floor. JOHN F. KENNEDY, speech, Aug. 30, 1960

What Is Going On In Wisconsin
Just to do a recap on what is going on in Wisconsin Gov. Walker introduced a radical legislation that would deny nearly 200,000 union member their full collective bargaining rights. Public employee contacts will be limited to one year and their pay would be cut and capped. He has even threatened to mobilize the Wisconsin National Guard if needed to stop protest, intimidate workers, and break unions. Why, oh why would he threaten to mobilize the National Guard when the people in Wisconsin are just using their First Amendment Rights. It is because Gov. Walker know he as been caught in a lie about what he is wanting to do. So far Wisconsin citizens became the first to fight back. They stand at the front line in the fight to save not just their unions, but the American way of life. We can not let them stand alone. We must all join together in their fight because soon it will be our fight here in Missouri.
